IMPERSONATION OF BOARD OF WATER SUPPLY EMPLOYEES

HONOLULU –“ The Board of Water Supply (BWS) would like to alert the public about reports of individuals claiming to be BWS employees in order to gain access to private property. The individuals are reportedly wearing green t-shirts that resemble BWS employee attire and have been asking residents to allow them in their homes.

The BWS would like to inform the public that all personnel involved in official BWS activities will be properly credentialed, wearing official BWS attire with the BWS logo, driving BWS labeled vehicles, and carrying an official City and County of Honolulu badge with the agency identified as the BWS. Residents are encouraged to call the Honolulu Police Department at 9-1-1 if they observe any suspicious activity. The community may also call the BWS Communications Office at 748-5041 to file an additional report.

Currently there are a lot of HACKS going around on Wordpress. Some of you have done your own wordpress websites and some may have hired someone but they may not be actively managing your site anymore.

I want to stress to you the importance of backing up and keeping your wordpress websites updated. Quite recently several members have had their sites hacked and it was very time consuming and costly to fix the issues.

Your options are:

do the updates yourself (please read article and understand the risks involved)

Have your webmaster do it for you which is usually a better and safer option.

  Aloha and Mahalo for this comment. I agree with you strongly that we do not need Target in Kailua. I am not speaking as a business owner or on behalf of any politician, but as a concerned citizen. I was born as raised in Waimanalo, and I have seen Kailua become a growing thriving small business community. The small businesses are the roots of the Kailua Community. If you kill the roots, then the tree will die. Kailua is still growing, and the fruit from it is keeping the community alive.
  
  I also had the honor to attend the Kailua Board Meeting on August 5, 2010. I was very disappointed at the lack of community support from Target by not having a representative present at that important meeting. I heard only one person stand up, and give his drunken support for Target using vulgar language, and also bashing Don Quiote who has always been a community supporter. There were more than just a few people who got up, and spoke out against Target coming to Kailua. These people not only did it with class, but all of them explained their reasons thoroughly why they don't want Target in Kailua.
  
  I got up and gave a speech, and spoke out on behalf of the small business owners. I had a difficult time just holding back my tears just thinking about what Kailua would be like without a lot of the businesses that my Ohana, my wife's Ohana, and I grew up with. I currently reside in Ewa, but if you are reading this, then let me ask you these few questions. "What would Kailua be without Manuheali'i? What would Kailua be without Hungry Ear's (open 30 years)? What would Kailua be without Mary Z's (open 17 years)? I have seen all of these businesses come into their own, and thrive through good times and bad times. What would it be like if they were all to leave Kailua on behalf of Target. I would be devestated, and crushed. I don't want the people of Kailua, nor myself to say what if 2-3 years from now.
  
  With that all said, and done-let me ask you this final question, and give you the answer to it. "What would Kailua be without Target?" It will be what it always has been-KAILUA!!!

Just who's responsible for allowing this to happen?! More importantly, how much money did you get (from Target) for allowing this to happen?! Kaneohe Ranch threw hundreds out of their apartments over two years ago. Flattened their homes and left 2 huge vacant lots.They are in no position to be trusted when it comes to the welfare of Kailua.

Meetings have either been closed or are not announced. Mitch from Kaneohe Ranch keeps saying that Target products do not affect any local businesses but as it has been shown through very accurate research by several groups, this is NOT true. He claims that tenants are supportive and that there have been many meetings about Target. That is not true. Do they think we are stupid that we wouldn't notice? It is quite insulting and very disrespectful the way Kaneohe Ranch has been handling this. The truth is they hired a president who is a corporate closer who loves to hear himself talk, to run what used to be an organization dedicated to the community. Due to greed, they saw potential and brought in someone with the primary goal to make them money. They hide behind all of the things that the organization has done but the truth is that time is over. Kaneohe Ranch is no longer the organization it set out to be. Mr. Castle would roll over in his grave if he knew what has happened to his legacy. No matter how much they claim to have the community in mind, it is a lie. I think that Mitch has WAAAYYYYYYY too much power, he is like a little dictator and no one person should have that much control over the lives of the people who live here. Something needs to be done about him. Really, he is going to ruin our towns while building a nice little comfy kingdom for himself and the benefactors.

We are just weeks away from the launch of our buy local windward campaign. It has been a long year and we encountered many setbacks. Some of you may have noticed the project name and design has changed several times. Unfortunately, our idea was stolen by a contractor who we had approached to help with the project.
