Kailua Disaster Preparedness Committee
Carlene MacPherson & Claudine Tomasas will share with us the necessity of having, our Businesses, Disaster Prepared. If you think that the Police, Fire Department, or any of our First Responders are coming to rescue us and provide us with all that we need, you are in for a shock. In times of Natural Disasters they are going to be busy and WE are going to have to take care of ourselves. Have a plan and be prepared. N.O.A.A., Department of Emergency Management and State Civil Defense will be setting up tables for all of you to ask questions and pick up important literature. The tables will be up by 11:00 am, before the meeting, and will remain up till after the meeting.
Windward (Kailua) Community Transit Center
The City and County of Honolulu has initiated a project to plan and design a new community transit center in Kailua, O'ahu. The development of the facility is an iterative process involving agency and community stakeholder consultations and technical analyses. Fourteen preliminary sites were identified and evaluated based on input from key city agencies and several Kailua community organizations and landowners. Attached is the brochure from CH2M Hill. Look it over and be ready to ask questions.
