Golfing on Windward Oahu
Windward Oahu is paradise for both the avid and the occasional golfer. Six of the eight courses in the area are open to the public and offer visitors and residents a variety of terrains and challenges for all skill levels. (Restricted Courses: KMBH – Military course and Mid-Pacific CC - Private) Spectacular views of the Koolau mountain range are visible from all courses and some feature ocean views.
Be sure to bring extra balls if you play tropical Koolau or Luana Hills nestled in lush rain forests. Koolau is considered the toughest course in the nation from the back tees with forced carries on many of the holes.

Luana Hills Country Club
(Semi Private)
PH: 262-2139
From the mind of legendary golf architect Pete Dye, Luana Hills is a high risk/high rewards course sure to delight and inspire golfers of all abilities. Stretching across a modest 6,595 yards from the back tees, golfers have much to consider as they tee up before an array of forced carries, bunkers bordered by railroad ties, par-3s over streams, undulating bent grass, and fairways that slope off into bunkers and ravines. The course's signature hole is set deep in the verdant rainforest along Maunawili Stream. From elevated tees, golfers reach for the green past shooting fountains.
Olomana Golf Links
(Public)
PH: 259-7926
Obama's favorite Hawaii course. Olomana Golf Links features an 18 hole, par 72 golf course that provides unparalleled vistas of the Ko'olau Mountain Range, challenging holes accented by inviting water hazards, cavernous sand traps, undulating topographical conditions and several signature holes.
