Shopping in Kailua is unique and enjoyable. You will find is a multitude of one of a kind shops specializing in island treasures of all sorts and all prices. The entire downtown area of Kailua is small, so you won’t wear yourself out visiting the shops, but you might wear comfortable shoes on this outing. If you are driving, you can park in the town center behind Macy’s and easily reach all the stores and establishments.

Since Macy’s is central in Kailua, you can go in any direction from there to find shops and restaurants, cookies, ice cream and shave ice. There are grocery stores, banks, a post office, dive shops and an emergency medical office. When in doubt stop at our visitors center to check with our volunteers who all live in Kailua and can give great advice.

It is easy to find whatever you need in this historic town of Kailua. Kailua is filled with mom and pop stores that are unique to Kailua. Relax. Enjoy!

Lanikai Bath and Body

When visiting Kailua, the president's beach home is stocked with Lanikai Bath and Body products. Located next to our visitors center they carry made in Hawaii beauty and home care products. These Hawaiian made products are the most comprehensive body and skin care line in the islands and are natural, botanically based, cruelty free and safe for the environment.

Windward Mall - Where Families Gather for Fun, Shopping and Entertainment.
When it comes to shopping, dining, entertainment and more, nowhere else can you find it all in one location on the windward side of O'ahu than at Windward Mall. Home to over 120 shops, full-service and casual restaurants, kid-friendly attractions and a 10-plex cinema. Windward Mall is the gathering place for island families and residents.
Book Ends Get friendly personal service from the knowledgeable staff and owner. This is nice little bookstore, with both used and new books, and lots of benches and chairs for sitting and browsing. Piles of books & children friendly!

If you are shopping for kids, be sure to try family owned Little People Hawaii (Aloha Kids). Books, clothes, Hawaiian Collectibles, toys....but this is not a souvenir shop. It is a unique store with custom made items made specifically for Hawaii's kids. People are encourged to touch feel and play their way around the store. A must stop on your shopping trip!

Kailua is fortunate to have the Sweet Paradise Chocolatier shop right in the heart of Kailua. They use fresh tropical fruits, nuts and spices to create the most exquisite handmade chocolate confections. Chocolatier Melanie Boudar studied with some of the finest artisan chocolate makers in North America. Try their Pacific Rim Fusion selection!

Another item unique to Hawaii is Hawaiian Jewelery. Windward Jewelers individually hand crafts each piece with ALOHA out of solid 14k gold and is sold exclusively at Windward Jewelers. Award winning Designer and Goldsmith Hella Allerstorfer-Meek G.G., captures the beauty of these Hawaiian islands in her designs. She is a second generation jeweler, serving the Windward community since 1966.

For made in Hawaii art and gifts, stop by Naturally Hawaiian Gallery. Owned by Hawaii's nature artist and Cowboy Patrick Ching, this roadside art gallery has something for everyone. When Patrick is not wrestling bulls or off in some remote location trekking through the rain forest he is often their to autograph prints, pose for pictures, or teaching one of his famous realistic art classes that attracts people from all over the world. You can also take Hula, Yoga, and free Hawaiian language classes !

Farmers Market

We are lucky to have two Farmers Markets in Kailua. The People’s Open Market is held every Thursday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 sharp in the parking lot of the Kailua District Park at 21 South Kainalu Drive.

The Hawaii Farm Bureau and co-sponsor Kaneohe Ranch Company Ltd. hold a second market each Thursday evening. More than 2 dozen vendors display and sell their products each week. From 5 to 7:30 p.m. Kailua Town Center Parking Garage, 609 Kailua Road (behind Longs).
